Sean Connery, the face of the early James Bond films has passed on earlier today with reports coming in that the actor was ill for some time before passing away in his sleep.
Connery is the man responsible for being the first to recite the dialogue “The name’s Bond, James Bond”, words which changed the world of cinema forever as the franchise became one of the most successful in history.
The Scot is also known for his impactful performances in Dragon Heart and The Untouchables, a film for which he won an Oscar for in 1988.
Connery has left behind his wife of fourty-five years, Micheline Roquebrune; and son Jason, who is known for his film Tommy’s Honour.
