
Burfee Halwa Dessert
This recipe was introduced to me by my sister who perfected it. My daughter loved it and therefore I had to learn to make it for the family. Its quick, easy and delicious.

Ingredients
1
1 litre milk
2
4 tablespoons sugar
3
2 teaspoon china grass powder (ghaas)
4
half cup klim powder

2 tablespoon custard powder (optional)

half cup milk

1 tin nestle cream
8
1 tin condensed milk

half teaspoon elachi essence
10
half teaspoon rose essence
Method
1
Add the milk into a saucepan, together with the sugar and china grass powder on low to medium heat until it comes to a boil whilst continuously stirring;

Take the klim powder and custard powder and add to half cup milk to make a smooth paste;

once you have a smooth runny paste, add this to the milk mixture that is on the stove;

continuously stir the mixture until it thickens slightly and comes to a boil again;

remove from the heat and add 1 tin nestle cream and 1 tin condensed milk and blend with hand mixer until it is nice and smooth;

lastly add the elachi and the rose essence

pour into moulds or glasses and refrigerate. decorate as desired.

Chef's note
One can also substitute the rose essence with the Monin rose syrup which is readily available at Sweet and Soda.
