Burger King Style Chicken Fries

Ingredients

2 chicken breasts, sliced against the grain into 1/4"-thick pieces

1 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs

2 tsp. garlic powder

2 tsp. onion powder

1 1/2 tsp. dried parsley

1 1/2 tsp. dried thyme

1 1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

3 large eggs

3/4 cup. cornstarch

1 Tbsp. granulated sugar

2 tsp. salt

3 cups vegetable oil, for frying

Dipping Sauce

1/2 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup. BBQ sauce

1/4 cup yellow mustard

1 Tbsp. honey

Method

Freeze chicken until completely frozen, about 1 hour.

In a shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, parsley, thyme, and pepper. In another shallow bowl, beat eggs to blend. Into a third shallow bowl, pour cornstarch.

In a medium bowl, combine chicken, granulated sugar, salt. Toss chicken in cornstarch, dredge in egg, then coat in bread crumb mixture, gently pressing to adhere.

Into a large heavy skillet fitted with a deep-fry thermometer, pour oil to a depth of 1" to 2". Heat over medium heat until thermometer registers 180.

Working in batches, fry chicken, turning occasionally, until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain.

Dipping Sauce

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, BBQ sauce, mustard, and honey.

Arrange chicken fries on a platter. Serve with sauce alongside.
