This sweet bread is a definite favourite in my home... it was from my grandmothers time and the bread is still made ever so often...

Ingredients

7 cups flour (seven)

3/4 cup sugar (three quarter)

1/2 tin condensed milk (half)

3/4 cup oil (three quarter)

1 and 1/2 packet dry yeast (one and a half)

1 1/2 to 2 cups luke warm water (one and a half)

Method

Add all the dry ingredients to a bowl

mix the oil into the dry ingredients

then add the condensed milk to the luke warm water and pour into the flour and make a dough

Leave the dough to rise for a few hours (approximately 2 hours)

knead the dough again and make balls. Place the balls in a baking tray and let it rise again for one hour

Brush egg on the balls and then bake

Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 20 - 25 minutes

Chef's note

If you find that the dough is not rising, heat your oven for ten minutes and then switch it off. Then cover the dough and place in oven to rise.
