Ingredients

1 large French loaf or Portuguese roll

2 cups of French fries (chips), cooked until crispy

1 cup of shredded lettuce

1 large tomato, sliced

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 cup of cooked and seasoned chicken, beef, or sausage, sliced

1/2 cup of grated cheese (optional)

2-3 large eggs, scrambled (optional)

1/4 cup of tomato sauce or chutney

Method

Preheat your oven to 180°C.

Slice the French loaf or Portuguese roll in half lengthwise, and hollow out some of the bread from the center to create space for the filling.

Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the cooked fries and season with salt and pepper. Cook until they are crispy and golden brown.

Layer the bottom half of the loaf with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, onion, and your choice of cooked meat.
